The Reverend is going through a difficult time right now as I’m about to turn 40 in few days.

This isn’t a bad thing, but still one that is teaching me a bunch of lessons in life.

I want to live the purpose that I have been called to live, but I have got to make decisions and choices when I’m actually feeling lost, uncertain and stuck.

I’ve become caught in a Drift.

What is this? A mental state found within in which there are lessons to learn amongst a little bit of confusion and lack of clarity

So what do I do?

BREATHE.

Go ahead. Take a deep breath right now, through the nose.

You’ll find that simply taking the time to breathe will sometimes give you enough time and clarity.

I also then ask, “Who am I and what is the purpose of my life?”

I know that I want to live a meaningful life, being guided by God. But I also refuse to hide behind the Drift.

Listen and you’ll receive more as you ask the questions of who you want to bring into my life.

We all have our own challenges and Drift.

And that’s OK. Drifts are not bad. It’s a way to calibrate where we want to be in life.

When you Drift, don’t beat yourself up about it; do these simple acts like breathing, listening/slowing down.

Be still and listen. Eventually you’ll find the clarity and the answers brought on by the Drift.

Ask yourself:

* Who am I and who do I need to bring into my life to maintain?

* What is the purpose of my life?

* What do I want to create?

If the Voice doesn’t speak, you still need to make a choice and MOVE. Can you listen and trust the answers that are inevitably coming within the Drift?
