Across the board, I recently had an amazing day.

From spending time with my family, to having a productive day with work and sharing a motivational message with incredible youth and valued members of the community, I had a day that would normally leave me exhausted by the end of it so I could recharge and feel rejuvenated for the following day.

This time around though, it didn’t happen.

In fact, I couldn’t get to sleep at all. I also couldn’t stay asleep, so though I got up at my usual time early in the morning, I knew that something was off.

I knew that I was going to suffer the following day if I wanted to make it amazing as well.

And sure enough, I struggled trying to get my workout in,  having my energy really get effected, and in the past, the old Setema would have immediately resorted to victimhood and blaming other people or situations for why I wasn’t getting a work out in like I wanted.

It wasn’t until I really looked at what I did the day before to find the cause of being so off.

Which also meant that I was able to come up with a solution as well.

Be awake, aware, and alert to the things that are going on in your life. If you don’t like where it’s heading, have the fortitude to COURSE CORRECT.

You won’t be able to do that if you’re not looking in the first place, and being a victim isn’t going to do it for you.

The things that are going on in your life are because of YOU.

If you are AWAKE, ALERT, and AWARE, you will be able to ask powerful questions.

And the more powerful questions you ask, the easier it becomes to see that you need to course correct.

I am in charge of my life. Not anyone else.

I am subject to the laws of the land and abide by them, which also means that I can course correct and get to my destination even faster than ever.

And so can you.

YOU can course correct what’s causing you to not be more healthy in your life.

Ask yourself:

* Where in my life do I need to course correct?

* What are the possibilities out there if I decide to be awake, alert and aware within my life?

* What is holding me back from getting there?

Once we realize that we are in charge of our own life, a simple course correction is all that it takes to live a life that truly matters and benefits everyone else’s as well.
