What do NFL’s Ray Lewis and Hollywood’s Will Smith Share in Common? With “IT” Anything is Possible and YOU might be Missing It…
Posted on 04. May, 2010 by Setema Gali in Paradigm Shift, Sports Lessons
In this short video Ray Lewis shares one of the KEYS of what it takes to succeed in the NFL but more importantly in LIFE! (AND THE BEST YOU in YOUR LIFE) so watch and read the rest of my thoughts. Check out RAY LEWIS, Will Smith and Setema Gali!
Yes…it’s WORK.
With all the GURUS out there talking about finding the easiest way to do things…the easiest way to generate on-line leads all on ‘auto-pilot’…

Still trying to find the EASY button for weight loss...like pills and no exercise, no eating healthy etc. Better think again...There is NO EASY way to get healthy.
The easiest way to lose weight…The easiest way to cut fat off your body…The easiest and fastest way to make money…
The easiest and fastest way to build a downline…The easiest and fastest way to quit your job and retire young…
I can hear it now…”Work?…let me show you an easier way to do it…” or “There’s gotta be an easier way to do this…” or “Maybe if I just buy this program it will do the work for me…”
Listen up closely and read not only with your mind but with your heart…
Work is the real answer. In fact learning how to work SMART and HARD takes WORK.
We live in a day and age where people have forgotten how to REALLY WORK. How to really sweat. How to really grind and how to really go to failure.
Because of technology and science and the day and age of fast food, fast information…immediate results…there is something missing in our younger generation…
It’s called HARD FREAKIN WORK and KNOWING HOW TO WORK!
I have trained tens of thousands of entrepreneurs and ALL OF THEM are always looking for the easy way to get something done.
Yes…if there is a better way to cut the trees… put the ax down and pick up the chainsaw…but it still takes HARD WORK no matter what tool you have…no matter what program you have…no matter what you do…it still takes WORK!
I agree…find a more effective way to get things done.
BUT, in this looking for a faster and more efficient way the truth remains the same…there is a gestational period that MUST take place.
A seed planted takes time to grow, nourish and then sprout.
A baby’s gestational time is about 9 months.
A muscle must be torn, broken and then healed and given time to recover.
A high rise takes weeks and months even years before business men and women work from it.
Our search for more easy and more effective ways has led many to FORGET what got us here as a nation and as a productive people…
“Anybody who ain’t afraid to WORK…Greatness will chase them.” Ray Lewis
HARD WORK.
WORK ETHIC.
BUSTING YOUR TAIL.
Most Entrepreneurs will NEVER make it because they don’t know how to work anymore.
They try something once or twice and when it doesn’t work they quit. They blame the product, or the organization, or their upline, or their downline or their genetics, or their parents…(the blame game.)
“Hard Work Will Beat Talent Every Time When Talent Won’t Work.”
Ray Lewis is one of the greatest linebackers to ever play the game of football. His work ethic is unmatched. His intensity is contagious. His passion for the game is unending. This is how he works. This is how he lives.
Ray said “I don’t train for reps. I don’t train for time. I train for failure.” This guy trains so hard his body adapts an adjusts and when it’s time to play the game…HE WINS because he will outwork you.
If your job, or your company, or your business was like football…would you WIN the game? Or would you just barely survive?
Would you be on the bench or would you work ethic carry you forward?
Would you get cut or would you be an all-star.

Tom Hanks says "I learned to work hard as a young boy and working hard has paid off in so many ways."
Get REAL WITH YOURSELF. Quit lying to yourself. Quit deceiving yourself. Pretending to work is like going to the gym and splashing some water on your face and then walking out.
You didn’t do a dang thing yet you have convinced yourself that you have and then you begin to create a belief that success isn’t for you. Stop pretending.
Success is for anyone and everyone…if they want it and are willing to PAY THE PRICE!
Have you forgotten how to really apply yourself and WORK HARD?
Have you forgotten how to sweat, to move, to push yourself?
Again, I 100% agree with working smart and efficient and effective. Ironically I’ve never ever had a bag of money fall out of the sky and hit me on the head while I was meditating.
I’ve never had muscles grow on my body while just sitting there watching TV and not hitting the gym.
I’ve never had my lungs increase in cardiovascular shape by watching a movie.
I’ve never had my downline grow while I was ‘thought’ about building an organization.

Attributes his success to what he calls "HUSTLE"...working harder than anyone else and not quitting.
The Book didn’t just write itself.
The company didn’t just form itself.
Relationships just don’t ‘happen.’
From Ray Lewis to Will Smith…from Tom Brady to Tom Hanks…from 50 Cent to P. Diddy…when you read their books and watch their works…they all say the same thing…
“One of the biggest keys and secrets of success is hustle…work…and more work at the end of the day.”
If success is what you want…if real fulfillment is what you desire…if living your dreams is the end in mind… HARD WORK is one of the KEYS.
You can fool others…but you cannot fool God and you cannot fool yourself. You can try but deep down inside you’ll know if you are really pushing yourself.
A seed that is NOT nourished and given time and watered and taken care of cannot be lied to. You cannot lie to a seed in the ground and the universe.
You cannot lie to the principles of the universe. You either live the principles or you don’t.
“The person that works the hardest wins.” Will Smith
It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in. Work will pay dividends. Creating a work ethic will provide results much farther than the eye can see.
Developing a habit of knowing how to really work will carry you.
It’s been proven that individuals who know how to succeed in one area of life are 10 times more likely to succeed in another area of life.
When I played football at BYU and eventually in the NFL with the Patriots I can honestly say there is one thing that got me farther than most…
It was my work ethic.

I developed a life-changing motto while at BYU..."I will out work you and my work will beat you even if you are more talented."
Growing up as a Polynesian was fun. I was big and somewhat athletic but I wasn’t very fast. I wasn’t very strong. In fact when I got to New England Mike Woicik the strength and conditioning coach said “You are one of the weakest Samoans I have ever coached.”
He wasn’t lying.
BUT…
I developed a motto in college that took me to another level when more talented and faster more athletic guys were around me.
This was my motto and still is today…
“You may be faster, you may be stronger, you may even be smarter…but you will not out work me. I will out work you, I will out work you and finally…I WILL OUT WORK YOU! I’ll die before I quit.”
When Mike told me this at New England I just laughed because I knew I wasn’t the fastest…but my work, my conditioning my desire, my tenacity and my passion would BEAT YOU even if you were more talented, faster and stronger.
Even today when I walk into that weight room to work out…I will out work you and I become very raw and agitated because I know what it takes to build a healthy body and mind.
I believe greatness will chase people who develop a habit of working hard and working smart. Work is the KEY!
So…are you working or just waiting?
Are you pushing yourself beyond the limit or are you giving up early?
Have you developed and created a habit of WORKING HARD or do you just do the minimum to GET BY?
Learning how to WORK is a KEY of success. More importantly, WORK is a prerequisite to being HAPPY.
Get rid of your mentality of “It’s just too hard.” Guess what… it takes HARD WORK to be a great parent and to build a great family.
It takes HARD WORK to be a great husband or wife.
It takes HARD WORK to be a great speaker, a great author, a great business owner, a great friend, a great trainer, a great mortgage officer, a great real estate agent…IT TAKES HARD WORK but the fruits of HARD WORK always come!
“The Fruits of Hard Work Always Pays Dividends.”
If you aren’t willing to develop an insane work ethic…you won’t make it.
“How I do anything is how I do everything.”
The equations are simple
Hard Work=Success and Happiness
No Work=Laziness, Procrastination and Misery
So the secret of it all…DEVELOP A ‘HARD WORK’ MENTALITY and Work Ethic. Let this be a WAY OF LIFE for you. When you do, greatness will chase you and happiness, fulfillment and even money will come beckoning at your door.
If you don’t believe me…TRY IT!

The way I see it, there’s always somebody out there that has a leg up on you, more experience and are more deeply ingrained in your particular business. How can a newbie ever catch up??? For the last 2 months I have worked really HARD to make my first goal just to get my foot in the door. When I accomplish that, it will only be the beginning. It’s at that point where my outperforming everybody in my industry will make them sit up and notice. I can hardly wait to take my industry by storm.

Setema, Great videos. I like the work ethic of Ray Lewis, but you just can’t beat Will Smith’s passion and intensity. His 9 minute video clip of a bunch of different media interviews is completely inspiring!
I’ve been really enjoying your blog from the background now for quite a while. It’s really quite good. It was one of the reasons I started a blog as well. Mine isn’t done 100% quite yet, but I will have it finished by the end of this week. I’d love to put your blog on my blogroll if that would be ok? I really think there is great value that you have to offer and would like to help out in any way I can to promote it. Let me know what you think…

This is Chris Musti from Scranton, PA home of Vice-President Joe Biden, and Hilliary Rodham Clinton fathers home town. We are also the home town of the Steamtown Cigar Club Owner John Meyers. I think this was awesome. I follow you daily. If I can live my life like yours it definately would be a great life. I have seen other people in person such as Anthony Robbins, Robert Keyasocki “Rich Dad’s Poor Dad’s Author”, and Donald Trump. I have seen others like Mayor Rudy Guiliani, President Bill Clinton to only name a few. However it would be my dream & goal of mine to meet you in person one of these days.

This is so true, “No Work = Laziness, Procrastination and Misery. “Getting results takes dedication and patience. It can’t happen overnight and there is no wonder pill that is going to make you succeed.
Many people have the misconception that guys like Will Smith just got lucky or had the right break but it must have been because they were ready to grab the opportunity. Hard work does pay off in more ways than one.
