Motivating and Inspiring Quotes
Posted on 17. Jun, 2010 by Setema Gali in Inspiring Quotes
I want your help friends! Will you help me compile a best quotes by inputting your quote or quotes in the comments section? It’s for a friend whose time on this earth is coming to a close…
Here’s where I got the idea…
When I joined Facebook a while back I would post quotes each day from my studies in the morning. What I noticed was that people began emailing me and messaging me and thanking me for the inspiration.
How could I take credit?
I was simply creating value for other people.
Now it’s almost impossible to look at facebook or twitter without seeing powerful quotes all over the place. There is something powerful and moving about hearing a great quote. While playing football for BYU a great quote could turn the day around or pull me out of a crazy day.One quote that ran through my head was “If you want it bad enough you’ll pay the price and do what it takes NO MATTER WHAT.” Another quote that kept me from quitting was this “I”ll die before I quit.” That became a motto for me.
To this day I love to read quotes that inspire, motivate and move me to take action. Life isn’t easy at times especially if you are taking the path of passion, persistence and purpose.
I’m inviting you to share your favorite quote or as many quotes in this section by leaving it in the comments section.
I look forward to being inspired and know that I can come here anytime and find peace, excitement, energy and purpose through the quotes that will be left here.
Thank you and enjoy!
Here are some of my favorites..I have a TON but to get this started here goes…

One never learns by success. Success is the plateau that one rests upon to take breath and look down from upon the straight and difficult path, but one does not climb upon a plateau.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
—Marianne Williamson
[Often said to have been quoted in a speech by Nelson Mandela. The source is Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Harper Collins, 1992. —Peter McLaughlin]

I’ve always found this quote from Victor Frankl as very inspiring… and something that personally helps me keep my perspective and attitude in check on a daily level.
I figure, if he can come up with that theory, or believe that life is still worth living – even while being in a Nazi concentration camp and losing his family – there are very few things that happen in my life that are worth feeling down or lost about.
“Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” Victor Frankl
Another that I love from Tony Robbins…
“Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally save them… It’s not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean.”
And finally, from Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi,
“A joyful life is an individual creation that cannot be copied from a recipe.”
He has dozens of quotes or parts in his books that I’ve underlined and highlighted and put on 3×5 cards, but that one always stuck out.
I hope your friend fights a strong fight and finds joy in the time he/she has.

Setema,
Great project. Give our love and aloha to your friend. Here are some of my favorite quotes, the last one I owe all to you.
Size matters not.

Always in motion is the future.
– Yoda
Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

“The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of the people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature.”
–Ezra Taft Benson

If you want to go somewhere, it is best to find someone who has already been there.
Robert Kiyosaki
Inside of every problem lies an opportunity.
Robert Kiyosaki
The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way.
Robert Kiyosaki
Expect progression, not perfection.

These are thoughts that I had as a result of different experiences in life. In order to remember them I jotted them down and put them in quote format.
“Don’t be mistaken, the competition
is against yourself, and it doesn’t finish
at the end of the match, race, day, week, month
or year… it ends at your eulogy. “
or
“A careful evaluation of an mounting
number of people endeavoring to
successfully increase wealth is their lack of
priority when considering those aspects
most important to the joy that slowly
evades them.”
or
“Most men sit and wonder what
it would be like to be rich,
Rich men work and know
why they don’t want to sit.”
