I make sure that every week I take the time to look at my calendar for what’s going on as a way to prepare and pump me up for what needs to get done throughout the week.

On my calendar I saw a scheduled Nancy run that caused me to reflect on weakness.

See, I have believed for years that Polynesians can’t run, and it’s uncomfortable for me to run, always ending in last place (or close to it).

And yet, I thrive in the darkness. I may be powerful in certain areas and not so hot with others, but the more I practice, the better I am.

I’m starting to tell myself a different story that I’m an Endurance Guy now. I embrace stamina and will dominate Kokoro 45 after learning what it is that I need to do. I will love running by the end of all this!

How did I get to this state?

There are people in your life that set these benchmarks, and if I use that as motivation to not only strive for but increase my own performance, I am able to go further than I previously thought.

Find the “rabbit” in your life that you can emulate in your own life. This will light your fire in the places that make you uncomfortable because you see someone else doing what you desire to accomplish.

See it first in your mind, and then create it. You’re going to have to do extra work and go the extra mile.

Ask yourself:

* What do I need to do to thrive in the darkness?

* How can I light my fire, no matter how dark/difficult the night gets?

* Where can I confront something in my life that has previously been holding me back?

Learn how to thrive in places that are uncomfortable by stepping into the darkness. If you do this, I have NO DOUBT that your life will prosper.
