Just got back from a trip visiting family in Las Vegas, but as beautiful as it was to see family, I was really sick.

I’ve been training hard with my workouts, but when I was that sick, I rested.

That’s not how it always was; I used to believe the false beliefs that despite having an achy body that was run down, I had to continue to perpetual myth that I had to work out just as hard as ever.

So, I changed my workout plan, and rested instead of working out these last few days, and my body feels SO good because it got the chance to rest.

If you do not recuperate, you do not rejuvenate.

You’ll end up losing the momentum that you had gained and regress from where you were able to build. You’ve got to take some time for YOU, and one way I did that was by resting.

When was the last time that you stopped and took the time to rest?

In Steven R Covey‘s 7 Habits, he has an analogy about sharpening the saw, which requires stopping and resting.

The most effective and powerful people take the time to relax and recuperate.

Ask yourself:

* When was the last time that I took time for ME?

* What does it look like to simply “be” in my life?

* What will I do to change the story that I have to go hard all the time?

If you’re always doing something productive, you are not allowing yourself the much-needed rest that will make you a better person.
