About Setema

I Setema having been born of AWESOME parents and have loved every moment of it since being born.

I started this blog because I know one of my purposes on this earth is to uplift, inspire and liberate people who are captive to the myths and fallacies that hold them in misery, slavery and financial bondage. One of my missions is to empowering people in all aspects of life. If your life becomes better because of me…then I’ve done my job.

Mission Statement of SetemaGali.com: To empower people to achieve their highest potential through understanding and applying true principles that will usher in maximum happiness, fulfillment, wealth and prosperity.

Who is Setema Gali?

I love serving and creating value for other people. It makes me happy.

From my high school days of playing football, basketball and track…to singing in the A Cappella and serving in the Student Government I realized I had a big mission in life. Making a measurable difference in the lives of people would be at the core of my life’s purpose.

I set a goal to receive an athletic scholarship for football. I learned at an early age that those with goals, plans and meticulously spelled out activities to accomplish those goals had more energy and drive than those who didn’t.

My dreams came true in 1993 when I was offered numerous scholarships to play football at the University level. I chose B.Y.U. (Brigham Young University) and that decision alone would shape my life in the most dramatic way more than I could comprehend at the time.

Micronesia Guam Mission

Following my first year of college I served a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Micronesia Guam. Since the age of 14 serving a mission for my church was always a top priority.

I put football, school and dating on hold to help others come unto Christ. I learned a foreign language, traveled the Micronesian islands for 2 years including Yap, Palau, Guam, Saipan, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Ebeye and Majuro. I love those people.

These 2 years were some of the most memorable, amazing humbling years of my life. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to serve and bring these people the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It truly was the best years of my life up to that point.  The molding and shaping of my life was intensified by the purpose of the mission…to bring others to Jesus Christ.

B.Y.U.-Football and College

Upon returning to Provo, Utah to finish my schooling I played football from 1997-2000 where I learned life-changing lessons as a student athlete. Five shoulder surgeries, a fractured leg, 2 pulled groin muscles, a massive concussion with a 20 minute black out and a busted back sum up my experiences at B.Y.U. Not to mention being a defensive captain in 2000 and leading the Mountain West Conference in sacks. I played under the great Lavell Edwards and football was a huge laboratory for me. I grew physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. I cherish those days of service and team comradeship.

I graduated in April of 2001 from B.Y.U and spent that summer getting to know the woman I would take to the alter as the love of my life and most beautiful woman to cross my path.

NFL and New England Patriots

I was blessed with an opportunity to play for the New England Patriots in 2001-2003 and enjoyed each moment. I worked my butt off in the weight room, on the field.

“Hard work is one of the most certain ways to create long lasting dividends for the rest of your life. Bust your butt in everything you do and money will follow you.”

The pinnacle of my football career being Super Bowl XXXVI where we beat the St. Louis Rams in New Orleans. What an awesome experience that was for me and my family.

Upon returning home I was financially broke. I hadn’t learned how to manage my money so no matter how much money I made, I spent it faster than it came in.

I fumbled my way around the business world in 2003 and was living in my mom’s basement. I was pretty embarrassed. Who graduates from college, has a degree, has a Super Bowl Ring and lives in his mom’s basement financially broke and humiliated?

Life and Business After the NFL

In 2003 after the NFL I joined a band called the Mana Poly All-Stars. We have 2 albums and have traveled from Florida, Hawaii, West Coast and Las Vegas up to Salt Lake City. I am passionate about music and my culture and affecting lives through the gifts of music that I have and that I have worked on.

In December 2003 enough was enough. I was done being broke and being a loser. I set a goal to make 6 figures (after making less than $19k in 2003) and in December of 2004 I made $139k.

In 2005 I doubled my 2004 income.

In 2006 I met a man who changed my life.

I walked away from my business in the summer of 2006 to go after my passion. Making lots of money means nothing if you are unhappy. Prosperity truly is available and one shouldn’t make excuses to be broke as I had done for quite some time.

I took an unorthodox approach to building my business. I owned half a million dollars worth of vehicles. I bought my wife’s dream car (Supercharged Range Rover), my 2 dream cars (Mercedes Benz S-65 and an Escalade EXT with all the goodies), and owned a couple other cars. I had homes across the country. I was a 7 figure earner, loving life and doing what I loved to do.

My business was growing at an astronomical rate BUT, I didn’t prepare myself for the unseen economical factors that would play out in 2007 and 2008. I wasn’t prepared for the ravaging effects of an implosion within the mortgage and housing industry.

I lost it all. Five Cars Repossessed, six homes foreclosed, evictions notices, late notices, shut-off notices…yep, a blast and a good time no doubt and great learning experiences.

“It’s not what happens to us that matters, it’s what happens within us that makes the difference.”

Rebuilding, Retooling and Re-engineering Life and Business

Tragedies happen to everyone. Life happens. Things we don’t prefer take place in our lives and it’s how we respond to these events that shape our lives. I call it Forging Our Destiny.

The blessings in disguise (foreclosure, repossession, eviction, moving my family, being financially broke) have helped to infuse a humility and empathy within me. When I was making $50k a month and making $100k a day (those were some great days) I had little tolerance for people who weren’t making money.

I was very judgmental and I know the Lord needed to teach me lessons so that I could better understand and know how to help my fellow men.

I know what it’s like to have no money in my account. I know how frustrating and depressing it can be when the bank dings your account 5 times for overdraft charges. I know how bad it sucks to have to pick and choose what bills you’re going to pay while hoping and praying the gas or water or electricity doesn’t get turned off because you need to put food on the table for your young children who look up to you.

And coming home to see that “shut-off” notice on the front door sends a rush of anger through your blood (well, it did for me :) ) On the other hand…

I know what it’s like to make 6 figures in a year, 6 figures in a month and 6 figures in a day. I know what it’s like to travel and NEVER EVER worry about money (seriously, this is a great thing…to travel and NOT worry about money at all) and if you haven’t done this yet…it’s time to make it happen in your life.

I’ve experienced the freedom to do what you want, when you want to do it and how you want to do it. Five star hotels…$200k cars and even better…being in position to donate, help and support those who are less fortunate. It’s extremely exhilarating to do sub-for-santas and anonymous donations. That’s what it’s all about after all…contributing and giving to help mankind with what you have.

Family Man

The greatest day of my life is the day I married my wife in December 2005! For all the people who say marriage is hard and challenging and blah blah blah listen…marriage is like football. There are times to be on the offensive and times to be on the defensive. You’ll have to weather storms, blitzes, and injury, Over all, you fight for what you want and trust in the principles that govern happiness.

My wife is amazing. Ever supportive and strengthening in my quest to make an impact on the world. It’s difficult to go after your dreams if your spouse isn’t with you 100%.

We love watching movies and on Friday afternoons and holidays you can find us watching the latest movie in the theater for an afternoon matinee eating popcorn and sharing an Icee together.

We love basketball and volleyball and we love our three sons. There is nothing like coming home and hearing the kids running to the door who are yelling “daddy!” Or having your young toddler sneak into your bed in the middle of the night or having the kids take over the bed while you and your spouse are hanging on the edge of the bed while the family bodies form that famous “H” on the bed…

Yes, parenthood is awesome and my wife and children are my top priorities. My parents did an extremely great job with all they had in raising me and I will continue to teach my children the truths and principles that will allow them to be contributors and “good Samaritans” in this life.

Life is sweet when you have your family and are working on building a close-knit family. My family is my top priority. My wife is my highest priority. The way I keep score on this is weekly date-night and 2-3 nice vacations per year. My wife has been my biggest supporter. There really is nothing better than family when it is done right.

Business Here and Now

What is Setema up to now?

1. I Help People Get Their Lives Back

This is crucial because we live in a world where the onslaught of information overload can overwhelm people and overwhelmed equals procrastination. Procrastination means no action which means no results.

Dream again and dream big. Create the Life You Truly Want and Love. Build the bridges that were burned and create value for yourself and for other people. Getting your life back involves challenging the assumptions and paradigms with which you live.

It’s discarding the false beliefs that you are living by. It’s paradigm shifting and compass calibrating over and over again until you are living on an extremely prosperous path…the path that YOU deem as prosperous.

If your life sucks:)(hey, who hasn’t gone through difficult times…I have and here we are learning together)…my blogs messages will surely help you on the way. With hundreds of posts (free content) I’ve received numerous emails and messages from people whose lives have been changed.

Let’s get your life back and help others to get their lives back as well. Why am I so good at this? Because I’ve gone through the rise and fall two times and have figured out a few little known secrets that have allowed me to be here speaking with you through this blog.

2. I Teach People How To Build Their Business/Brand Mindset

Out of 100 people at age 65, only 1 is wealthy. The rest are dead, dead broke or barely surviving.

74% of the wealthy one percent are business owners. I help people build successful million dollar businesses.

I never sale or force or persuade…I simply share with those who are looking, open minded, teachable and who are willing to work.

3. I Teach People How To Create Their Ideal Life-Goal Setting Goal Getting Goal Giving

When one becomes clear…I mean crystal clear on their intention and desires and outcomes, that life will come searching for you. Most people have no idea what they really want. Most know what they DON’T want but life has a way of sucking dreams and desires from people and they forget what they are truly capable of.

Through powerful techniques and questions, one can begin to rid them self of the old boring non-productive life to a new, powerful money making, happy ending and contributing life-style that Creators live.

What would your life look like if you could make $5k-$10k a month? How about $50k a month? Yes, it’s possible and being done all over the world with people in our organization. You can have this life too…if you want it.

4.  I am Devoted to Life-Long Learning and Growth

What does the future hold? We know change is inevitable. For those who are willing to change and adapt, life becomes extremely fun. Peter Drucker said “With change comes inefficiency. With inefficiency comes opportunity. Entrepreneurs look for change and exploit it.”

I believe that no matter what we face, we can utilize those experiences for the greater good.

I am confident that as we grow mentally, spiritually, physically, financially and emotionally we can adapt and change as our external influences change. No matter how radical the external influence the individual and/or families devoted to learning and growing will always come out ahead of those who do not.

As of August 2012 I am enrolled at Brigham Young University in my master’s program. I still speak, manage and recruit to build my team in Vivint (which has been a life-changing blessing for me and my family) and my wife and I have three beautiful healthy boys.

I am going through radical shifts in my thinking, my assumptions and beliefs.

What’s next?

We’re still writing the story.

Will you be part of it?

To be continued…
