The Real Truth About Life’s Challenges

Life can be harsh at times. I mean, who hasn’t had their fair share of hardships, challenges, trials, and tribulations?

At different times in our lives, we all ask:

  • “Why is life so hard?”
  • “Why does life suck?”
  • “Why do bad things happen to good people?”
  • “When will it ever end?”

If you haven’t asked these questions, this is NOT for you. You’re already on your divinely inspired path.

For the rest of us human beings, what is the real truth about our so-called challenges?

The real truth . . . sometimes there isn’t an answer that solves the problem. Sometimes the answers are the problems (problems = gifts and blessings in disguise).

The best thing we can do is to quit complaining, shut up (obviously speaking to myself because sometimes I want to over-complain), exercise some patience and move forward. Can we do this and NOT burn friendships, relationships and bridges in the process?

One of the hidden gems I found in my life is to just move forward and learn the lesson I’m supposed to learn. If I don’t learn the lesson, I get to repeat the obstacle over and over and over until I learn the lesson. So learn the lesson, write it down, share it and master it. For those who think death is the answer to their problems, think again. You cannot run from an all-knowing God who knows the beginning from the end.You cannot outrun that which inevitable.

We can learn our lesson (the lesson may take years, so buckle down and enjoy it) OR we can repeat it over and over and and over and over and over and over again.

Yes, life is not “fair” at times. That’s life. Yes, not everything turns our way. That’s life. And yes, we get to grow in this life. That’s life.

End of rant.

How To Turn Your Challenges and Obstacles Into Power

Feel like you're constantly pushing against a rock that won't move?

Life is going to deal harsh moments. And one of the most important SKILLS we can gain is to learn in life is how to turn those “harsh” moments into POWER!

I remember playing football for my Alma Mater B.Y.U. and I faced some harsh moments…obstacles as we call them.

Not 1, not 2 and not 3…but 5 shoulder surgeries. Yes…football is a collision sport and very dangerous :) .

I suffered a fractured leg, two pulled groins (and if you’ve ever pulled your groin…it hurts like a @#$#%)

I experienced memory loss in a 20 minute black out concussion at Arizona State. I couldn’t remember the whole weekend.

My back is a whole story in and of itself.

These “obstacles” forced me to take a good look at who I really was and who I was trying to become.

Instead of viewing them as “obstacles” I knew I needed to find a way to use it as fuel.

So I began studying people who experienced MASSIVE frustration and headaches. I guarantee life is going to deal you major heartache, frustration and harsh moments if it hasn’t already (divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, loss of a loved one, tragic accident) and the BEST thing you can do is turn those moments into beautiful stepping stones.

This is how I did it and do it today. [...]

The Moment When Our Destiny is Forged…Part I

Be Still and Know...

Life happens. Even when we choose to Create our life and create our reality, things still happen.

I’ve spoke to tens of thousands of people about the principles of happiness, prosperity, health and wealth.

I am a true believer of the power of agency that each of us has.

But what about when drastic things happen?

A loved one passes away.

We lose a job and then another and go for months and even years without sustained income.

We do everything right and our spouse leaves us.

A child is diagnosed with a rare disease and suffers physical pain.

We hit a point in our life where we begin to challenge everything we’ve been taught.

Discouragement begins to set in and overtake us.

Come on…we’ve all been there.  We set goals, develop powerful habits and the rhythm of life is beautiful and then tragedy strikes, tribulation hits and interruption jolts the melodies and harmonies of a life we believed we deserve.

It is in this moment literally that life changes because it is in these very moments that our literal eternal destiny will be forged. We have choices to make.
